This run through class is not for dogs new to scent work. Dogs should be searching or trialing at Novice or Advanced level. We will focus on interior and exterior searches.

Prerequisites: Dogs must be on odor and ready to trial or trialing at Novice or Advanced levels, or by permission of the instructor. Please contact the instructor before you sign up to confirm that your dog is eligible for this class, or for additional details.

With strong foundations you can succeed in any sport you and your dog want to try. This class will work on the use of marker words, platforms for teaching positions, pivoting into heel, figure 8’s, stays under distraction, sending to a vertical target, position changes from a distance, and jumps.

Dogs must have sucessfully passed MDTC's Introduction to Agility 102 and Intermediate Obedience class ensuring the ability to work off leash, and respond to commands (sit, stay and come, heel on leash). Students may ask to be evaluated by the Training Director (Deana Bullock, 757-778-7608) or Instructor before coming to class.
