Scent Work - Novice/Advanced (LW) (Members Only)

Calendar Jul 7, 2026 at 2 pm, runs for 6 weeks

This run through class is not for dogs new to scent work. Dogs should be searching or trialing at Novice or Advanced level. We will focus on interior and exterior searches.

Prerequisites: Dogs must be on odor and ready to trial or trialing at Novice or Advanced levels, or by permission of the instructor. Please contact the instructor before you sign up to confirm that your dog is eligible for this class, or for additional details. 

Note: Dogs must crate between runs.

Foundations to Excel in Obedience & Rally (MC) (Members Only)

With strong foundations you can succeed in any sport you and your dog want to try. This class will work on the use of marker words, platforms for teaching positions, pivoting into heel, figure 8’s, stays under distraction, sending to a vertical target, position changes from a distance, and jumps. 

Prerequisites: Intermediate Obedience or permission from the instructor. Please contact the instructor or Training Director before you sign up for class.

Supplies Needed: Platforms will be used in class and it is highly encouraged that you build or purchase your own for practicing at home, 10 foot leash.

Agility (Advanced -1) - Handling Sequences & Techniques (JF) (Members Only)

This class includes abbreviated Excellent/Master level Standard and Jumpers with Weaves courses with emphasis on the performance requirements of each obstacle and the handling necessary to move between them.

Note: Students are expected to help setup and break down equipment at the beginning and end of each class.

Prerequisites: Dogs/handlers must have successfully completed MDTC’S Intermediate Obedience classes, Foundations & Groundwork (Intro to Agility) 101-104, and Improving Handler & Dog Skills (Intermediate) or be evaluated by instructor/training director before signing up for class.

This class is designed for beginner dogs and handlers who have little experience in agility. The class will continue work on foundation agility exercises, including body awareness, targeting, start line stays, forward focus, distance commands and handling skills. Contact obstacle and weave pole foundations will be introduced in addition to beginner/novice sequences.

Note: Students are expected to help setup and break down equipment at the beginning and end of each class.

Prerequisites: Dogs must be at least 12 months of age. Dogs must have sucessfully passed MDTC's Introduction to Agility 102 and Intermediate Obedience class ensuring the ability to work off leash, and respond to commands (sit, stay and come, heel on leash). Students may ask to be evaluated by the Training Director (Deana Bullock, 757-778-7608) or Instructor before coming to class.
