AKC Competitive Obedience - Open Handler Skill Building (MAM) (Members Only)

This is not a Beginner Open Obedience or Open Obedience run thru class. This class is the fifth in a series, and for those teams that have learned the basic skills, rules and training techniques to compete in Open Obedience trials and working toward refining those skills. All work is done in class off lead with multiple dogs working on the same floor space.
Prerequisites: Teams must have attended the first four classes in this series. Multiple rings will be used.
Note: No 2nd dogs/same handler will be accepted for this class. We do understand many of you may be traveling from quite a distance with multiple dogs training that day. You're welcome to bring them into the building with you; however, you are only permitted to work the one registered for the class. Please contact the Training Director, Deanna Bullock, 757-778-7608 for approvals or questions.

with Brenda Boesel
Instructional class covering rules and regulations, ring procedures, and a critiqued run thru of each dog. This class is for dogs getting ready to show in BN or in Novice and dogs will need a reliable recall.
Prerequisites: Dogs should be working on off lead heeling and recall.

This class is designed for obedience competitors who wish to ultimately show at the higher levels of this sport.
Prerequisites: Handlers must have titled any dog at the CD level. Dogs entered in this class must have a CD title, OR be evaluated by the instructor/training director before signing up for the class. Dogs must have a solid recall.
Note: Students are expected to help set up and break down class equipment.
